Hi All,

Here is a quick update for the Auction. I have had a few people tell me they could not read the attached files on my last email so here is all of the information in email form.

There are also updates on the Items over $50 list, And a list of all sellers so far. If anyone else has stuff to sell please let me know I will put you on the list as a if time permits seller. Last year we ended early as things went very smooth with the new format if we can keep it up this year we might be able to squeeze in another seller or two.

There will be one more update next Monday and a quick reminder email for the Auction going out on Friday. Please send this email to anyone you might think is interested in attending but is not on our mailing list.

Because of the size of the illusions it might not be possible for Steve to transport all of the illusions to the Auction. If anyone is interested in any of them please email Steve so he can make sure the illusions people have interest in are at the Auction. If you're interested in more than 1 illusion Steve has indicated that he would be willing to work out a package deal. If there is no interest in the Illusions, he will not be bringing them to the auction, so please take the time to contact him if you are interested.

All sellers will have 20 mins per round; I will say that we are going to be very close on time this year. Please make sure you have all your items marked with an opening bid so we can make the best use of your time.

Auction Rules 2008

Just like last year I would like to ask that all Sellers and Buyers please follow these simple rules.

Sellers

  1. Doors will open for Sellers ONLY at 8 am. All sellers must be in the function room and set up by 9 am. This should make the pre-auction viewing easier and more productive.
  2. Please do your best to stay with your items during the pre-view time to answer any questions. This should help the buyers to make a more informed decision when bidding.
  3. There will be No Non Magic related items auctioned.
  4. All Items need to have an opening bid clearly marked on them; any item not marked will be passed over.
  5. Videos need to be bundled into sets of 3 tapes or more, and have a minimum opening bid of $5 or more.
  6. DVDs may be sold as individual items if they have a starting bid of $5 or more. Any DVD under $5 needs to be bundled with other DVDs to meet the minimum opening bid.
  7. Books may be sold as individual items if they have a starting bid of $5 or more. Any book under $5 needs to be bundled with other books to meet the minimum opening bid.
  8. All Grab Bags need to be numbered; this will help in speeding up the process of selling them. Please see Buyers notes for more information.

Buyers

  1. Doors will open for the Buyers at 9AM sharp you will have 1 hour to look at the items and take notes this will help to speed up the auctioning.
  2. To help with set-up and get all of the Seller's items on display, Buyers who arrive before 9 am will be asked to wait in the lobby.
  3. All Buyers are asked to please pay the $5 cover and pick up your number as you enter the room.
  4. Buyers will be given their number card and a pencil when they check in at the door. If you are interested in bidding on a Grab Bag, please take the time to note the Seller's name and the # on the Bag. During the auction we will not describe all the items in the bags, we will give the Seller's name and the # of the Grab Bag and mention a few items in the bag. The time spent going through and describing all of the items in the bags is very long. We have received a number of complements about the time saved not having to describe each item in the bag last year. As a result we are keeping most of the sellers rules the same.
  5. We know some people cannot stay to the end of the day so there will be a checkout at 3:30 pm for BUYERS ONLY. We will not be able to check out sellers at this time.

All

  1. There will be a 30 min Lunch Break at 12:30 pm and we will resume at 1 pm sharp.
  2. Pizza will be brought in and you will have a chance to order slices while checking in.
  3. There will be a 50/50 Raffle at lunch break. Tickets are $2 or 3 for $5.
  4. There will be no use of Cell Phones in the room, if your phone rings please step outside of the room to take the call.
  5. All payments are by Cash or Checks Only "Make Checks payable to IBM Ring 166."
