Our August meeting will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2008, at 3:00 pm at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Bangor, Maine. Here are directions to the St. John's Episcopal Church.

The theme of the meeting is School Shows, featuring a lecture by Stan Davis. Stan will explore motivations for doing school shows, and explain what schools want in a show. He will compare the structures of shows with a message and shows that do not deliver a message. He will give practical advice on effects, equipment, and audience management.

Stan will teach at least one practical message-based effect that can be used in any show: his routine for the Jumping Knot of Pakistan.
