Our November meeting will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2008, at 3:00 pm at the Friars' Bakehouse in Bangor, Maine. Here are directions to the Friars' Bakehouse.

The theme of the meeting is Turkeys, featuring magic that didn't work out for you. It's time to share your pain. You went to a magic lecture, dropped by a magic shop, or saw an ad in a magic magazine. It looked terrific! Just what your act needs! It could be the beginning of a whole new direction for you! Sure, it's expensive, but think of the increased bookings that this fantastic piece will bring!

If you're lucky, you took a good look at it one day and said, "What was I thinking?"

If you aren't lucky, you actually performed this...piece...in front of people. They didn't even have to come up afterwards and tell you. You knew right away. As you loaded it into the car, you said, "What was I thinking?"

Yes, it's November. It's time to talk Turkeys. We don't mean the ones that go with cranberry sauce on Thanksgiving. We mean the magic in your closet, drawer, or workshop that just didn't work out for you. We hope that this can be a learning experience for everybody. At a minimum, other members can learn to stay away from the Turkeys that you encountered. Even better, someone else might be able to make your Turkey into an eagle.
