Siegfried & Roy Commemorative Coin

Siegfried & Roy   Siegfried & Roy
Obverse (Siegfried & Roy)   Reverse (Magicians of the Century)

Siegfried & Roy are among the most successful magicians of the twentieth century. Their spectacular magic show at the Mirage in Las Vegas featured a cast of 100 people as well as their famous tigers. The show closed when Roy Horn was mauled by a tiger onstage. He is recovering well and says that he will perform again.

Siegfried & Roy have been active in various charity causes, most notably conservation. They are advocates of tiger conservation, having assisted zoos in the United States and abroad, as well as publicizing the Save the Tiger Fund. Please see the website for Siegfried & Roy for more information.

Following the performances at the January 2008 meeting, a raffle was held for the Siegfried & Roy commemorative coin. The coin is gold plated and is about the size of a silver dollar. Members and guests were permitted to purchase as many tickets as they liked at $1 each, 6 for $5, or 13 for $10. The raffle raised $65, which was directed to the Ring's Lecture Endowment. The raffle was won by Geoffrey Miller.
