Call to Order, Rules of Order.
President Danny Baker called the meeting to order under the revised Rules of Order. The Board adopted the agenda, which had been developed in advance via email.
IV. Minutes. The minutes of the March Executive Meeting were approved without amendment in an email vote on June 1, 2008.
V. Treasurer's Report.
V. A. Current Finances. The Treasurer's Report for the June Ring Meeting will serve as the report for this meeting.
V. B. Financial Review. The Financial Review Committee has not yet been appointed.
VI. A. 1. Public Show Committee for Chung Ling Soo Stage Magic Competition.
Paul Szauter is the Contest Official for the Chung Ling Soo Stage Magic Competition.
Danny Baker named the Public Show Committee at the meeting:
VI. A. 2. Nominating Committee. Danny Baker appointed the Nominating Committee at the Ring business meeting. The Nominating Committee is:
VII. A. Max Malini Parlor Magic Contest. The Ring had $91 in revenue from the Max Malini Parlor Magic Contest. Last year, the Board directed some of the income from the Chung Ling Soo Stage Magic Competition to the Chung Ling Soo endowment.
Geoffrey Miller proposed that income from contests should normally be directed to the endowment supporting that contest. Specifically, the proposal is to change part of the Policy and Program Manual from:
Ring members performing in public in shows to benefit the Ring shall not normally derive any income from these shows. Income to the Ring derived from Ring fundraising shows shall normally enter the Ring's General Fund, unless upon recommendation by the Board and a majority vote of members at a regular meeting, the funds are directed to an Award Endowment.

This proposal was unanimously endorsed by the Board via email prior to the Ring business meeting. Members approved the proposal at the Ring meeting.
VII. B. Hire A Magician. The Board had previously voted via email to allow a 90-day grace period for payment (due March 1) for ads on the Hire a Magician page. The Board decided that the grace period for payment for an ad on the Hire A Magician page should also be 90 days.
VII. C. Public Show. There is a consensus on the Board that there should be a Ring fundraising show before the end of the year. The earliest that such a show could take place would be September.
Danny Baker will look into the possibility of using the Alamo Theater in Bucksport, and presented Ring members with the opportunity to perform in the variety show there on July 24 or July 27.
Paul Szauter and Geoffrey Miller will look into the possibility of using the Union Street Brick Church in Bangor, which holds an open mic every Thursday.
Danny had previously proposed the first Saturday in December (December 6, 2008) as a good date for a Holiday show.
VII. D. WEAR 2009. The next Worldwide Escape Artist Relay has been set for Saturday, October 24, 2009. For WEAR 2007, the Ring hosted the registration page on its web site. Paul Szauter requested that the Board consider having the Ring host the WEAR 2009 registration page. The Board endorsed the idea. Because this does not require the expenditure of Ring funds, it will be presented to the members as a Board decision rather than being put to a vote.
With no further business, a motion was made to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
