April 20, 2008. Tom Craven is the Elliott Card Champion for 2008, having won the third annual Dr. James William Elliott Card Challenge in Rumford, Maine, on April 20. Tom Craven emerged as the 2008 Elliott Card Champion from a field of formidable contestants in front of an audience that included members of the public. Tom was declared the Elliott Card Champion by a tally of the votes of members of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Also competing were Phil Smith (2007 Elliott Card Champion) and Professor Miller. Please see the Ring Report for more photos. |

| Contestants honored in the 2008 Max Malini Parlor Magic Contest were Brother Don Paul (First Place), Professor Miller (Second Place), and Wes Booth (Third Place and People's Choice). |

June 10, 2007. Brother Don Paul, performing as The Mysterious Baxter, is the Malini Contest Winner for 2008, having won the second annual Max Malini Parlor Magic Contest in Bangor, Maine, on May 18. Professor Miller took the judge's award of Second Place, while Wes Booth took Third Place. Wes Booth received the People's Choice Award based on votes by members of the audience. Also competing were Stan Davis, Alan Drew, Phil Smith, Gary Jewell, and Danny Baker. Dr. Wilson's Flea Circus appeared as a warm-up act not eligible for competition.
